So Who is Playground?
At age 8 it all begin, as I sat next to my grandfather who was painting a landscaped filled with grass, flowers, cattle and a red barn. I sat there amazed as a blank canvas was slowly becoming something recognizable, life-like and beautiful. It was right there that I made the decision that I could do that too!!!
I picked up pencil & paper & begin scribbling. Trying to understand the relationship between what was in my head and what would be conceived on paper. I was hooked instantly. To be able to create something from nothing was an amazing feeling. I haven’t looked back since.
I put my pencil and brushes down for a while until 1996, where I learned of The Art Institute of Houston. Immediately I visited an open house, enrolled in their Multimedia Degree program, moved to Houston and fell back in love with CREATIVITY all over again.
It has been 13 years since my first Photoshop class. 13 years since I first learned that without pencil and paper i could create SOMETHING from NOTHING.
I have since learned the entire Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop,
Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Flash, InDesign, Illustrator), I have learned both PC and Mac platforms, I have learned to code- HTML XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash- with some actionscript capabilities, I also have advance knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, Web Content Implementation using a Content Management System (CMS) and FTP software.
Along with my program abilities I bring several other assets to the table. Knowledge of print/pre-press production, modern and clean design skills as well as excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
A team player, a kid in his very own “playground” … welcome to genius.
